The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) is Asia's first professional
basketball league. Founded in 1975, PBA is the country's premier
basketball league where the best and the brightest players come together.
Although the league is based in Metro Manila Area, its popularity is widespread
throughout the entire archipelago and even overseas. For several years, the PBA has
been a reliable source of entertainment for the Filipino audience.
In PBA, the participating teams carry the brand names of their respective
corporations unlike in most leagues elsewhere. There are currently 10
participating teams in the ongoing 2006-2007 PBA Season.
Now on its 32nd year, the PBA remains to be rock-solid
as it continues to bring the best of Philippine basketball to the Filipino
people.
