MOMMY ELVIE'S PROBLEMATIC SHOW
Tuesday 10pm

What could be more hilarious than watching a 79-year old mom working her way to stardom. Too Late? Look again.

The star search shows might have missed Mommy Elvie Villasanta. So, Totoo TV's Ariel-with a capital "A"- coaches and manages his real and reel-life mother to achieve her fervent wish of becoming "sikat" before she celebrates her 80th birthday. Expect the mother-and-son team to treat you to side-splitting Tuesday nights in ABC-5's newest comedy show dubbed "Mommy Elvie's Problematic Show".

Young director Aleah Aliporo sees this as a work of art and a work of the heart. "It's now time we give our oldies the best attention and love they deserve." She directs this no-script show, as she did the duo's first hit series Misadventures of Maverick and Ariel produced by Ideal Minds and aired on ABC some years ago. The series got numerous nominations and awards and even made it to the Asian TV Awards.

Ariel, the producer of the show, doesn't mind being the 'extra' this time, as long as his mother is the bida. "When we stopped taping Misadventures, she got weak and became sickly. Now, she's starting to fix herself again and enjoys being in front of the camera once more. " Kahit ibenta ko mga kotse ko, gusto ko lang mag-bloom sya ulit," says Ariel, the devoted son who just might strike a gold mine in his mom.

Mommy Elvie remembers what her father had always told her. "Patay lang daw ang walang remedyo, e heto ako buhay na buhay. Gagawa pa ako ng commercial ng ice cream," she jokes. Mommy is a natural in front of the camera, and does her own lines. "Di na ako maka-memorize e.. kaya iku-kwento lang ni direk ang eksena, tapos ako na ang bahala."

Looks like the whole world's going to watch and wait until December when Mommy turns 80, and becomes a star.

Mommy Elvie's Problematic Show airs every Tuesday 10:00 pm on ABC!
