....Lucy Torres celebrates b’day in Shall We Dance weekend special

Three reasons why viewers should catch Shall We Dance: The Celebrity Dance Challenge two-part weekend
special on December 8 (Saturday) and December 9 (Sunday) 9 p.m. on ABC – it’s pumped, loaded and
star-studded.

One episode is definitely not enough because the country’s premier dance reality competition will be
celebrating so many things all at once – Lucy Torres-Gomez’s birthday bash, Shall We Dance second
year anniversary and Christmas special.

Lucy’s friends, lovebirds Ogie Alcasid and Regine Velasquez wouldn’t miss her birthday for anything.
Aside from Ogie and Regine, who will sing a duet for Lucy, Christian Bautista will also serenade the dance
goddess with Christmas melodies. A flood of VTR greetings from Lucy’s closest friends is also one of the
highlights in Lucy’s birthday party. One of these VTR greetings will come from Gretchen Barretto who
will deliver the good news for Lucy and the viewers of SWD.

The birthday girl will also prove why she’s TV’s dance goddess as she dances tango with two of the best
dance instructors in SWD, Paul Nuñez and Charlie Camacho and the Hotlegs.

Of course, Lucy’s birthday bash will not be complete without hubby Richard Gomez. Lucy and Richard
will be presenting a special gypsy-inspired dance number together with their real-life friend Joey Marquez.

Another interesting highlight of the two-part special is the question-and-answer portion in which Lucy will
take the hot seat while Richard and Joey interview her. This is definitely something to look out for.

As part of the show’s anniversary celebration, a special set of dance awards will be given out to former
participants. Season six batch two winner Spencer Reyes and batch 4 winner Paolo Ballesteros will slug it
out on the dancefloor as they do a showdown to find out who deserves to get the “dance breakthrough
award.” This is another must-see segment in the show as Spencer and Paolo will dress up as females
while their respective partners will disguise as males.

The anniversary will not be complete without an exhibition of dances from Shall We Dance three resident
judges Ednah Ledesma, Audie Gemora and Regine Tolentino: Judge Ednah and former contestant Pia
Moran will show how to dance the rumba, judge Audie and ex-SWD challenger Shirley Fuentes will do
the foxtrot while Regine and season 5 all-star will do a fashion show cum freestyle dance number.

All these and a whole lot more are expected to happen in this rare two-part special of Shall We Dance
on ABC.
